This is your chance to be an explorer and recapture the excitement of Jules Vern’s “Journey to the center of the earth”. Sample the natural waters of minerals spring while gazing at unique lava and rock formations. Bird life abounds in Snæfellsnes especially at Arnarstapi, Hellnar and Þúfubjarg as well as at the islands of Breiðafjörður bay. The Sæfellsnes includes visits to Búðir church (Built 1848), Arnarstapi harbour and seacaves, Lóndrangar rock formations and former crater. At Þúfubjarg and Breiðafjörður islands we will explore various kinds of seabirds such as kittiwakes, eider ducks, puffins, cormorants and more. Enroute we will enjoy the view to the glacier Snæfellsjökul, drive to the roots of the glacier, visit Sönghellir cave, watch the seals at the beach at the farmYtri Tunga and have short walks and stoppes while we drive around the peninsula and the glacier where the story of the journey to the center of the earth started.
